David Hair sure knows how to right a sequel that builds in everyway on the.

The Rondian legions are crossing into Antiopia with reckless abandonment hunting for goods, riches, and blood. The Moontide has begun and the Leviathan Bridge has been raised from the depths of the sea.

Hair has managed to pack horror, reincarnation, mythology and history all in one book - TheBookloversReview. The Magi are hell-bent on ruling this new world, and for the last two Moontides they have led armies across the bridge on 'crusades' of conquest. A riveting book that will keep you hooked to the very end. Most of the time the Moontide Bridge lies deep below the sea, but every 12 years the tides sink and the bridge is revealed, its gates open for trade. Praise for The Pyre: The Return of Ravana Book 1. It had been a while since i had a read so engrossing. The Scarlet Tides by David Hair Book 2 of The Moontide Quartet. Mages Blood: The Moontide Quartet Book 1. And the deaths.and the fights.and the worldbuilding.yeah i liked almost everything. Review 2: Really a great book! The author definitely knows how to write a war. David Hair sure knows how Series: The Moontide Quartet Book One Publisher: Jo Fletcher Books, 2012 Paperback: 721 pages. Goodreads members who liked Mage's Blood (Moontide Qua. If you liked the first one, read this one. Find books like Mage's Blood (Moontide Quartet, 1) from the world’s largest community of readers. The setting and story is interesting if infuriating and gratuitous. Maybe I will revise my ratings upon reread, maybe I missed some hidden depths. Maybe it is the amount and the visceral descriptions. There were a few twists I did not see coming, which is good. I don't think that it is a good combination. I may just be being harsher because the naming convention annoys me but it the sex seems more gratuitous, and it seems designed to titilate, horrify and show how evil certain characters are. After the calamity of the previous book, my impression was that nothing short of defibrillation is able to save this series.

I am very happy to part ways with this series and I do not plan to return to Mr Hair in a foreseeable future. A very predictable mix of morbid and cheesy. I like Game of Thrones, and that has sex, but this feels different. Fantasy Book Critic on the Moontide Quartet. The final book in the Moontide Quartet is bad, but not terrible. I can't quite put a finger on why this bothers me. If I knew why the author made this decision it might not bother me so much, but it just seems lazy and insulting to the intelligence of the reader. There is a lot of sex, usually violent, disgusting or evil in some way.

Hebusalim instead of Jerusalem, Hanu instead of Hanuman, The book is just full of these minor tweaks. more sy, but if you are going to steal something either let it be what it is or make it unrecognizable. I am fine with alternate history, and I am fine with fanta. The setting and mythology is clearly lifted from history, with only little tweaks. There are no Tywin Lannisters in this book, just Gregor Cleganes and Joffrey Baratheons. Maybe the magic system makes it so only arrogant monsters can rise to high position. The European analog prepares for its crusade, and the Middle Eastern equivalents play prepare their own "shihad." Evil characters are evil and arrogant. The villains are a bit too evil/petty/unreasonable/monsterous. Characters are separated and meet up with other characters. Review 1: I need to reread the first one and then this, I feel I have missed some things.
